Product teams sometimes hire for “more analytics” when what they need is a standing conversation with someone who will say no to vanity metrics.

Office hours work because they force a question onto the calendar: what decision are we making this week with data? If nobody has one, the session is short — and that is fine.

We keep notes after every block. Over a quarter those notes become a map of recurring debates (identity, attribution, retention windows) that a one-off audit would miss.

If your last three dashboard redesigns did not change a roadmap item, pause the redesign and book a decision ritual instead.
